What needs to be done?
In
today’s world many organizations have leadership development programs which
focus on developing the leadership competencies in their employees. This will
create a pool of talented people who can move any time in the organization’s
hierarchy.
One downsize to this leader-centric approach is that companies are ignoring the “other half of the equation – the followers” (Lapiere and Carsten, 2014, p.144). It is important for organizations to start fostering the development of their followers to bring all of them to the level of effective followers
